### How it Started

Like many investors in the BSC space, each of us has our own story of an investment gone awry. Whether it be a rug-pull, honeypot, or coordinated dump, one variable has remained consistent: these projects operated through self-serving developers looking to make a quick buck.

After meeting in such a project, we recognized a glaring need for more legitimate projects in the BSC. Recognizing our talents and real-world business experience, we decided to unite together and do just that. We set out to create a project founded on the value of total transparency and with a genuine dedication to its success and longevity.

### Why Kodi?

After launching our previous token (Kodiak), we ran into technical difficulties with our smart contract. The Gnosis multi-sig wallet used for the marketing funds malfunctioned with the contract, creating a backup in the BNB rewards distribution. Although we resolved the issue within 24 hours, the momentum needed to sustain buying pressure was axed. After deliberations, our team concluded the best option was to snap-shot current holders and migrate to a new contract.

Maintaining the same vision, we rebranded, and **Kodi Coin** was born. A project where all crypto enthusiasts bear-long!

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kodi.gitbook.io/kodi-whitepaper/about-us/backstory.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
